Graco will continue to offer a free replacement buckle to any consumer who has a toddler car seat or infant car seat not included in this recall, but would like to update their buckle to Graco’s current buckle design.

On July 4, 2014, Graco Children’s Products issued on an update to the existing buckle recall, expanding the recall to include certain models of rear facing only seats. Rear facing only seats affected by this advisory are:
Therefore, we have decided to conduct a voluntary recall on the harness buckles used on select toddler convertible car seats and harnessed booster seats. As a solution, Graco offers a new and improved replacement harness buckle to any consumer who may be experiencing difficulty with their harness buckle at no cost.
UPDATE: As of July 2, 2014, Graco has expanded this recall to include an additional 1.9 million rear-facing infant seats with a faulty buckle.
Graco Children’s Products is recalling almost 3.8 million car seats because faulty buckles can make it hard to free the child in an emergency, the company said on Tuesday.
Therefore, Graco has decided to conduct a voluntary recall on the harness buckles used on all toddler convertible car seats and harnessed booster seats manufactured from 2009 to July 2013.
However, Graco will offer a free replacement buckle to any consumer who has an infant car seat not included in this recall, but would like to update their buckle to Graco’s current buckle design. The following rear facing only seats are included in this recall.
